A fine first French Empire patinated bronze and ormolu incence or pastille holder. Set on a triform base a single patinated bronze stem rises to the ormolu swan sitting in a nest of ormolu in the form of a flower. The stem is profusely decorated with knurling. The swan is very well modelled and finished and holds in his beak an ormolu plate which is designed to hold chains to hold the dish on which the pastilles are held. French circa 1815. 11 inches high ( 27.5 cms).
