Good quality pair of European ivory cupids on circular ivory bases. One cupid is working as a blacksmith using a hammer on an anvil, probably fashioning cupid's arrows. He wears an apron and a flat cloth hat and has an intense expression of concentration on his face. The second cupid, also set on a circular base is leaning against a truncated reeded column with laurel leaves trailing from it. He is writing either in a book or on a tablet. Probably dating from circa 1880. Very fine carving and condition. 4.5 inches high by 2.25 inches diameter ( 11.25 cms by 5.625 cms).
