A superb and very rare Swiss silver and grey guilloche enamel striking carriage clock. Of very large size for this genre of clock and most unusually having the striking feature, almost unknown with this type of clock where timepiece only or timepiece repeat ( quarter or minute) are the norm. With sound holes to the base and a spreading base with enamel to all four sides. The panels to the sides and front with basket pattern engine turning below the enamel and with a white enamel border line. The dome top also with grey guilloche enamel with white enamel border. The white convex enamel dial with swags of flowers between the Arabic chapters and gilt bronze hour and minute hands. The movement of eight day duration with platform lever escapement, striking the hours and minutes on a gong. Swiss circa 1900. 3.5 inches high by 3.25 inches wide by 2.75 inches deep ( 8.75 cms by 8.12 cms by 6.87 cms).
