An antique English early 19th century patinated bronze bust. Of George IV, born 1762, famous for his dissolute lifestyle and his Royal Pavilion in Brighton, George became prince regent in 1811 and king in 1820. He died in 1830. The reverse of the bust has engraved the following "Publishd as the Act Directs Jany 1st 1831 by Sam Parker 12 Argyll Place London". This bust was conmmissioned and completed within 6 months of the death of George IV. 5.75 inches high by 2.25 inches square at the base( 14.375 cms by 5.6 cms ).
