A quite magnificent Italian Grand Tour bronze of "The Dying Gaul" . A Grand Tour bronze copy of the famous Roman marble statue now in the Capitoline Museum Rome which itself is a copy of a lost Hellenistic Statue. The casting and finishing of this lovely piece is excellent, enormous care has been taken with the chasing. The patination is completely original. It comes with a black marble base. 14.5 inches wide by 7 inches deep and 7.25 inches high ( 36.25 cms by 17.5 cms by 18 cms).
