A very attractive and original antique French mantel clock in porcelain and original ormolu with silvered bronze highlights to some leaves and buds.
Set upon a D-ended base with four feet and applied rosettes each side of a central porcelain panel with black ground and beautifully painted foilage. Similar porcelain panels to each d-end of the base. Below the dial is a larger panel again beautifully painted with foilage. To each side of the clock is a beautiful female mask with scrolls down the side to buds and foilage again picked out in silver. To the top of the clock is a porcelain urn with ormolu handles.
The beautiful dial is porcelain in similar vein with a cupid with foilage on a black ground. The blue Roman numerals on a white ground. The spade hands are of gilt bronze.
The movement is of 8 day duration striking the hours and halves on a bell.
The clock comes with its original base and glass dome.
