A pair of F. Barbedienne ormolu candlesticks in a very unusual form of oil lamps after the antique. The candlestick holder is to the front where the taper would have been and has a male mask to the front. The oil resevoir has a lid decorated with a male mask with his tongue sticking out. The handle is in the form of a bird with a long neck that is trying to peck the Grotesque's tongue. Both lamps are fully signed F. Barbedienne around the rim of the base.
