A very fine Antique English Regency pastille burner in the form of an ancient temple. In original patinated bronze and fire gilt bronze or ormolu. The tri-form base has three reeded pillars with further decoration to the capitals and bases. An ormolu circular band is attached to the pillars and is decorated with Amthemion on a poinced background. Set upon the ormolu circlet is a pastille burner with superb and very fine Acanthus leaf deoration to the outer edge. The domed lid to the pastille burner is hand pierced. Set within the temple and attached to the base is a finely modelled male figure with hand on hip.
Great colour, great quality, great subject and great period.
