A fine quality scuptured metal group with gilt and bronze finish, depicting the Emperor Napoleon sitting at his campaign desk in pensive mood after a picture by Denis Auguste Marie Raffet (1804 Ð 1860). Upon his desk is an open map, books and a lamp which contains a low wattage bulb, giving off a orange /red glow. All on a mottled green marble oblong base with an applied plaque engraved, VIELLE DE BATAILLE Par E. Carlier.
