An antique Art Nouveau Austrian bronze by Ferdinand Lugerth of a graceful discuss thrower. The beautiful young girl in a long dress with one hand behind her resting on her hip gets ready to throw the discus. A very good quality bronze with good original patina with some authentic bronze bleeding. Quite untouched. Signed in the bronze F. Lugerth for Ferdinand Lugerth (Austrian, 1885 -1915) and with Arthur Rubenstein Foundry mark. Austrian circa 1910. 11 inches high by 7 inches wide on oval base 4.5 inches by 3.5 inches ( 27.5 cms by 11.25 cms by 8.75 cms).
