Antique French Empire ormolu cased mantel clock by Charles Oudin of Paris.
Profusely decorated with applied ormolu mounts. Surmounted by a shallow urn with lion handles. Fine white enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. 8 day movement with silk suspension pendulum and striking the hours and halves on a bell. Circa 1815.
14.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide ( (36 cms by 16.25 cms).
Charles Oudin was a famous maker and was a pupil of Breguet. He is known to have been working at the Palais Royal, Galerie de Pierre between 1810 and 1820 when this clock would have been made.
