An attractive French Napoleon III antique mantel clock in original ormolu and fine pink, handpainted and jewelled porcelain.
The clock sits upon its original giltwood base and has six feet to its D-ended base which is decorated with applied ormolu mounts and a long rectangular porcelain plaque. The sides of the clock have further porcelain plaques and applied floral mounts.
The dial is a full square porcelain plaque decorated with flowers to the four corners and to the dial centre with Roman numerals between. The dial has blued steel spade hands.
The top of the clock is decorated with a lidded pink porcelain urn with bud finial and side handles.
The movement is of 8 day duration with steel suspended pendulum and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.
All the ormolu is original.
