Antique patinated, laquered and ormolu bronze mirror. Set upon a naturalistic base with an ormolu octopus lying on it fighting a dolphin with a gilt bronze child on his back. The uplifted tail of the dolphin holds the circular mirror. The mirror surround edged with beading and with fine cast decoration in two concentric circles again edged with beading. Probably French circa 1830-40 16 inches high ( 40 cms).
