A quite lovely antique Art Nouveau patinated and gilt bronze bronze bust of a beautifuful maiden with laurel leaves in her hair. This is a fine bust taken from the larger work known as "L'Histoire" by Georges Bareau ( 1866-1931). The bust of this lovely girl is in perfect untouched condition with no repatination, scratches or other damage. First produced in 1898 this is one of the pieces by Bareau that were produced by Ferdinand Barbedienne probably the formost fondeur of mid to late 19th century France. Thiss fine bronze is signed Geroges Bareau on one shoulder and F. Barbedienne Fondeur on the other. France circa 1900. 11.5 inches high by 6 inches wide by 4 inches deep ( 28.75 cms by 15 cms by 10 cms).
