A very fine blond tortoiseshell, ivory lined, mother of pearl and silver inlaid English Regency ecrier or standish. Of rectangular form this magnificent ecrier has inlaid mother of pearl and silver inlay in great profusion around the four outside elevations including the full width and depth drawer with mother of pearl handle. The four outside edges of the top also have superb pique workand is in marvellous condition. The ecrier has two pen trays and two cut glass inkwells with silver rims and tortoiseshell and shell pique tops. Between the inkwells is a pin tray with tortoiseshell veneered top with mother of pearl handle. The drawer, bracket feet, inkwell holders and the pin tray are all lined with ivory. A magnificent piece in very good condition. 12.875 inches wide by 8.625 inches deep by 5.25 inches high ( 32 cms by 21.56 cms by 13.125 cms). England circa 1820.
