A very rare and fine pair of English Regency elephant candlesticks. Set upon square bases with cylindrical stems and an elephant standing on each stem. Clearly a working elephant as it wears a decorated coat; it also has a raised trunk. Set upon his back the shaped and reeded stem rises to a floral drip pan and typically English decorated knurled candle holders. Excellent original condition with original patination and threads. English circa 1820. 10 inches high by 5.5 inches square at the base ( 25 cms by 13.75 cms).
