A very good patinated bronze version of Gianbolognia's version of Mercury. Very well muscled body and good face. Being blown from one of the mythical winds with wings to feet and helmet and flying on the wind. Standing upon a shaped grey marble base. Probably early 20th century with stamp saying " Bronze garanti Paris JB Deposee" and to the side A7255 Moreau. Circa 1905. 23 inches high by 7 inches wide by 5.75 inch diameter base ( 46 cms by 17.5 cms by 14.375 cms).
