A fine pair of antique Charles X French figural candelabra in the finest original fire gilt ormolu and patinated bronze. They have been lamped in the past but in quite a delicate way with very little evidence should they be required to be returned to just being candelabra rather than lamps.
Set upon triform bases with massive ormolu mounts to each corner. The figures, a beau and his maid in 17th century courtly dress are beautifully modelled. She wearing a full length dress and holding a book while he in short tunic, and cavalier hat with plume kneels on a rock swearing his undying love to the maid.
The candelabra are four branch and are highly decorated with ormolu having bunches of grapes dripping from them.
The candelabra come with shades bt if required the wiring can be removed.
