Superb three colour gold snuff box, the case is rectangular with cut corners, engine-turned within chased coloured gold foliate borders, divided into three compartments the central containing a watch movement with circular white enamel dial on a chased and matted gold ground, maker's mark H incuse, other marks illegible, rim with French departmental 3e titre and petite garantie for 1798-1809, with superb three coloured gold key. The total weight of the box plus key is 115.6 grams. The purity is 18 carat gold. 3.6 inches wide by 1.68 inches deep and .75 inches high ( 9 cms by 4.2 cms by 1.9 cms). Circa 1800.
