Attractive french Empire clock in patinated bronze and ormolu of milestone or "borne" form. Having very fine applied ormolu mounts to the front and side of the case with also a fine ormolu bezel decorated with forget-me-not flowers and ribbons surrounding the gilt bronze dial. The dial with Roman numerals and blued steel Breguet hands. Movement signed Hemon a Paris for Claude Hemon who was apprenticed in 1770 and was working at the Rue St-Martin between 1812 and 1820. 8 day movement countwheel strike system striking the hours and halves on a bell and regulated by a silk suspended pendulum. France circa 1818-25. 20 inches high.
