Tortoiseshell and cast silver mounted antique carriage clock. The superb tortoiseshell case with cast silver paw feet, finely cast silver panels all round, also a fine cast silver dome top with carrying handle. The dial plate is of silver with silver gilt centre and engraved spandrel corners and chapters with the hours marked as Arabic numerals, hands of blued steel and having its original bevelled glass plate covering the dial. The movement, an eight day carriage clock movement with lever escapement and striking the hours and halves on a gong. 8.5 inches high by 4.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep ( 21.25 cms by 11.25 cms by 8.75 cms).
