Ferdinand Preiss Art Deco Tazza supported by four naked maidens carved from ivory on a shaped bronze base.
An exquisite and perfect example of this superb Art Deco creation from Preiss, the greatest ivory carver of the period.
The four female figures stand upon a shaped patinated bronze base decorated with stylised flowers. The beautiful maidens hold up a bronze arched pediment decorated with palm leaves and this gives an orientalist feel to the piece. Supported on this pediment is the marble tazza bowl.
The four maidens are in quite perfect condition with no repairs or retorations at all and not a finger nail or toe nail missing on any of them. The piece is in perfect condition.
