A rare pair of silver and blue guilloche enamel rose vases with hand painted swags of roses to the base, shoulders and top.
Of superb colour and in quite mint condition with no repairs, scuffs or marks or dents of any kind to either the silver or the enamel.
To find one vase of this quality is unusual, to find a pair is rare, but to find a pair in mint condition is really extraordinary.
The vases are in four elements, base, stem, shoulder and cup. The guilloche decoration on all four elements is primarily of horizontal wavy lines. However on the shoulder and base elements to the outer edges has been used a basket weave pattern in addition to the wavy line pattern.
To the centre of the stem on each vase is a fine portrait miniature of fashionable ladies within a rococco silver frame.
Made in Austria, circa 1900 with sterling marks to base and makers mark in a lozenge R-S.
5.25 inches high by 2.25 inches diameter ( 13.125 cms by 5.625 cms).
