A large and impressive 2nd quarter of the 19th Century Gilt Bronze Sevres Porcelain and Carrera Marble Mounted Figural Mantel Clock signed , Raingo Freres a Paris, the break front plinth base centred with a scrolling acanthus leaf burnished and matt gilt surround, with laurel garlands and cast bezel, and set with pale blue Sevres panels with gilt highlights depicting children in period costume and further floral detail, and raised on acanthus leaf mount and compressed bun feet, the whole surmounted by a reclining classical female figure reading from a page, with white marble head and shoulders, arms and feet, to a signed circular porcelain dial with blue chapter ring and gilt highlighted Roman lozenges, with outside minute tracks, and further floral swags to the signed centre, with pierced and engraved gilt hands, to a circular silk suspension movement with anchor escapement, back mounted count wheel, strike on a bell.
