Antique tortoiseshell and gilt bronze desk set from the end of the 19th century. In excellent original condition with none of the tortoiseshell damaged. The set comprises a fine inkwell with original glass liner; a candlestick; a blotter; a pen tray; an ivory bladed letter opener; a perpetual calendar and finally a match box holder which can be used as a letter holder ( it may have been that originally but it came to me with a matchbox in). A very nice set, probably made in Germany or certainly for the German market ( because of the calendar). Circa 1895. Comes with a cites permit if necessary.
