19th century porcelain and original ormolu mantel clock.
This antique clock is surmounted by a charming and unusual group depicting in fine and original ormolu two young children sitting upon a naturalistic base, playing with a squirrel at their feet.
The case, with its original ormolu, is mounted with several panels of porcelain with hand painted flowers on a sky blue ground. The case is further mounted with ormolu swags of various flowers below the dial.
The clock sits upon four ormolu feet.
The white enamel dial with Black Roman hour chapters has hands of blued steel in the moon style made famous by Breguet.
The movement, of 8 day duration, strikes the hours and halves upon a bell.
