French Empire antique neo-classical design clock that inspired Thomas weeks.
The clock in patinated bronze and ormolu set upon four toupee feet.
To the top of the clock a semi draped maiden set on a bronze oil lamp is pouring oil into the well of the lamp. To the four corners of the top are four finials in the form of flames burning in tazzas.
To each side of the clock ormolu water streams from a lions mouth to fall into a shell held on a bird's head.
Ormolu mounts in the form of winged maidens blowing horns are above the dial while below it a fine applied ormolu mount of two maidens in classical robes dress a third woman sitting in a classical chair.
All four corners of the clock have reeded ormolu pillars with stars to the top.
The fine white and convex enamel dial with superbly pierced gilt bronze hands is surrounded by a gilt bronze bezel with Amthemion and Greek Key pattern decoration
The movement is of 8 day duration and is timepice only with silk suspended pendulum.
