Antique tortoiseshell, ivory and silver sewing box. Lovely condition and beautifully coloured tortoiseshell . The lid opens to reveal sewing accessory space. The edges of base and lid lined with ivory. A lower drawer with ivory locking mechanism, also with veneers of ivory. All knobs and handles are of turned ivory and the feet are also of ivory. A lovely box. Circa 1850. 10 inches wide by 7 inches deep and 5.5 inches high ( 25 cms by 17.5 cms by 13.75 cms).
