An attractive pair of antique French Directoire candlesticls. Constructed of Bleu Tarquin marble and fire gilt ormolu. Set on a circular marble base with three feet joined by straps below. The base cut in to allow an ormolu band of beading to be inset. On the base an ormolu stiff leaf cup holding the blue tarquin marble stem. The cup standing on concentic patterns of ormolu. The stem terminating at the shoulder in ormolu leaves rising to the candleholder beautifully decorated in original ormolu, simply cleaned. Photos show prior to cleaning and afterwards.
