Art Deco bronze and ivory figure on marble base by Morin.
A fine signed bronze and ivory figure of a semi clad female in classical clothes, probably representing Diana. Set upon a marble base the figure with ivory legs, feet, torso head and arms and the classical dress falling below the bustline in gilded bronze. Signed in the bronze MORIN. The woman has a quite beautifully sculpted face and is certainly of the quality one expects to find in the ivories of Ferdinand Preiss. Georges Morin born in Berlin, Germany in 1874, studied at the Acadamy and later in Paris and Italy. This statuette titled the "huntress" is Illustrated in Berman's "Bronzes Sculptors and Founders 1800-1930" Vol 4 pp 1019 # 3962. German circa 1925. 6.5 inches high ( 16.5 cms).
