A very fine French antique late 19th century porcelain and ormolu clock set.
The porcelain in sky blue with geometric enamel patterns. The clock with full front porcelain dial , convex porcelain side panels and porcelain urn surmount. The clock with ormolu finials to the shoulders.
The movement is an 8 day rack striking movement striking the hours and halves on a bell.
The sideieces very versatile as they can be used simply as decorative urns but they also convert to cassolettes ( candle holders when inverted). Set on circular bases with winged feet, rams head ormolu mounts terminating the geometric handles. The lids terminating in a berry finial.
French circa 1880-90.
Clock 16.75 inches high by 10.5 inches wide by 5.5 inches deep ( 41.87 cms by 26.25 cms by 13.75 cms), the sidepieces 13 inches high by 4.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep ( 32.5 cms by 11.25 cms by 11.25 cms).
