Silver and guilloche enamel sub miniature carriage or boudoir clock most unusual in having an alarm all set on a hardstone base, probably nephrite.. Set in its original leather and satin lined carrying case. First quality lilac guilloche enamel covering all sides including the back door with hatched engine turned decoaration and a double line of white enamel to the outer edges. The front of the clock decorated in the spandrel corners with hand painted polychrome enamel flowers. The white porcelain dial with Arabic numerals, gold minute marks, elaborate gilt minute and hour hands and a blued steel alarm set pointer. Marked Swiss just below 6 o'clock. The high quality full plated movement with top mounted lever escapement signed E. Mathey for Edouard Mathey ( later Mathey-Tissot) with 15 jewels 4 adjustments. Trade mark " Nocturne" and numbered on the movement 7128. Swiss circa 1920. 2.75 cms tall ( 7 cms).
