Antique French automaton clock of boiler with flywheel and govenor.

Antique French automaton clock of boiler with flywheel and govenor.
Automaton horizontal steam boiler. This fine antique piece is French and constructed from gilt and silvered bronze with a fine rouge marble base. The clock is in the form of a horizontal steam boiler and the automaton moving parts which comprise a large flywheel to the back of the clock driven by crankshaft and a two ball silver "governor" above and to the left of the flywheel. These are driven by a massive movement housed within the boiler ( see detailed photo). The dilas to the front of the boiler are a timepiece clock on the left hand side and a barometer on the right hand side. Between them is an alcahol thermometer. Just above and to the right of the timepiece dial is engraved C.H. Deposee which must clearly relate to the maker. The boiler is depicted in a most realistic way with a profusion of valves, lever and pipes. Dating from circa 1890. 12 inches high by 12 inches wide ( 30 cms by 30 cms.
