Well coloured tortoiseshell case of rectangular form with very substantial cast, pierced and finished silver mounts to all corners, very substantial foliate hinges and clasp to the back door. Reeded silver bun feet and heavy foliate handle.
The white enamel over copper dial with Roman hour numerals and blued steel hands is surrounded by a heavy silver bezel.
8 day lever escapement two train movement striking the hours and halves on a gong.
The movement signed " Glading and Co 46 & 47 Kings Road Brighton".
Hallmarked for London 1896.
A really superb case with outstanding mounts.
