Antique english Regency patinated bronze and ormolu double inkwell. Set upon a rectangular base with mercury gilt ormolu moulding of "stiff leaf and dart" design. The inkwell holder itself, a vertical rectangle of patinated bronze designed as a wall with courses of bricks. The inset lid of bronze doree with Amthemion paterns and crested with a fine dolphin, cast in bronze, well finished and then patinated. The dolphin lying on its body with his tail up. Two original porcelain inkwells ( one with chipped lip) and two quill holders. English circa 1810. 4 inches high by 4 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep ( 10 cms by 10 cms by 6.25 cms).
