A fine French Empire ormolu desk standish. Set upon a circular base with top and bottom mouldings cast with leaf and dart decoration. The space between decorated with flowers within a diamond pattern. The top with pin tray, two inkwells and a sander attached to a tall finial by chains. French Circa 1815-20. 7 inches high by 5 inches diameter ( 17.5 cms by 12.5 cms).
