Antique mantel clock from the french Romantic period in patinated bronze, gilt bronze and antique very marble. On bracket feet and antique vert marble base the clockis surmounted by a superb patinated bronze sculpture of a seated Cupid with gilt bronze bow and quiver. The quality of the sculpture is exceptional and rather than a stylised face this is sculpted from life. The clock has a white enamel dial. The movement is of 8 day duration, silk suspended pendulum and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.
