A superb quality antique French ormolu mantel clock of large size. Classic Louis XVIth style mantel clock with heavy bevelled glass sides to the pierced ormolu case. The ormolu of the very best quality produced towards the end of the 19th century and totally original. Very heavy case. Fine convex white enamel dial with hand painted floral swags and fine gilt bronze pierced hands. The movement of 8 day duration, steel suspended pendulum and striking the hours and halves on a cast bell.
