Antique French bronze of a young lifeboatman or gig rower signed Antoine Bofill
A good bronze of a lifeboatman or pilot gig rower. Dressed in wet weather gear and a sou'wester hat on his head he holds a pair of oars. He is bare foot and has his trousers rolled up as are his sleeves. Very well cast and finished with the original patination in good condition. Antoine Bofill a Spanish sculptor (1875-1921). Signed in the bronze and also with a founders stamp - "Bronze Guarantee au Titre LV Deposee" French circa 1880. 13.5 inches high by 7 inches wide by 4.25 inches deep ( 33.75 cms by 17.5 cms by 10.625 cms).
