An Italian Grand Tour version of Skipios' tomb in Sienna marble of good deep colour. Very well worked with volutes, acanthus leaves and flowers. Latin text to the front proper. A copy of the tomb of the famous Roman General and Consul. 6.5 inches wide by 3.25 inches high and 2 inches deep ( 16.25 cms by 8 cms by 5 cms). Italian, circa 1860
