A good gilt bronze singing bird box by Bontems of France. The bird with original yellow plumage move his head and his beak and flaps his tail feathers while he sings. The cage is key wound and as well as a stop and continuous play lever it has an intermittent play position. The box is stamped made in France and has the serial number 132 stamped into the case. The gilding is original. France circa 1910-20. Approx 12 inches tall.
