Very good example of the rare parcel gilt Antonin Mercier version of "David Vainquer. David stands upon the head of Goliath sheathing his sword. This magnificent bronze is Signed 'A MERCIE' to the top of the base, inscribed 'DAVID' (in hebrew characters) on the front and with the 'RÉDUCTION MÉCANIQUE A.COLLAS' stamp on the reverse. It is also fully signed by the famous fondeur barbedienne on the moulding of the base " F. Barbedienne, Fondeur". 35½ in. (90 cm.) high
