A quite lovely piece of ormolu from the French Empire or Charles X period. Original mercury gilding in virtually mint condition coupled with outstanding casting and finishing. The object is a pastille burnerset upon a square base with the circular socle decorated with a rope weave. The cylindrical stem decorated throughout with flowers. The pastille burner cup decorated with leaf and grape decoration with fine beading rising to the lip with stiff leaf and dart moulding. The lid hand pierced and with a bud finial and beading to the edge. France circa 1815-20. 9 inches by 3 inches square at the base ( 22.5 cm by 7.5 cm).
