English Victorian rosewood and Boulle decorated box lined for cigars.
A very attractive boulle and rosewood cigar box dating from the mid 19th century. Lined for storing cigars. Boulle was the method of cutting layers of brass and tortoiseshell in intricate patterns and laying them on a wooden base to from patterns of contrasting tortoiseshell and brass.English Victorian circa 1850. 8 inches wide by 4.3 inches deep by 3 inches high ( 20 cm by 11 cm by 7 cm).
