A lovely marble sculpture of Phryne by Pierre Etienne Daniel Campagne 1851-1910. Probably his best known work, its full title is "Phryne Before the Judges". This tells of the disputed story of the beautiful courtesan's defence when accused of Profaning the Eleunisian Mysteries she disrobed before the court. She was acquited. France 1890. 24 inches high by 15 inches wide by 6.5 inches deep ( 60 cm by 37.5 cm by 16.25 cm).
