A very fine cased desk set in Chalcedony and the very finest gilt bronze. Comprising a letter opener, a seal and a pen. The original velvet and silk lined leather case. The engraving on each piece of gilt bronze is outstanding. Note in the case reads "Chalcedony writing table set, from the collection of the Duke of St. Albans." England circa 1850. Case 10 inches wide by 3.25 inches deep by 1.25 inches high ( 25 cm by 10.625 cm by 2.81 cm).
