A 19th Century French Monkey Musician Automata Clock, possibly by Henri Phalibois, the monkey dressed in original clothes of breeches, waistcoat and trousers, playing a violin whilst seated on a rock in an arbour, with moving head, eyes, lips, mouth and arm.
The key wind musical movement enclosed in the ebonised cushion moulded plinth set with stop/start levers and pull cord repeat operates the automaton.
The clock with white enamelled dial and black Roman numerals is set into the rock face.
24.4 inches high by 19.5 inches wide and 10 inches deep ( 61 cm by 48 cm by 27 cm).
