Antique gothic tower clock in ormolu. Very fine quality with original ormolu and excellent casting, chasing and finishing. The decoration is pure Gothic Revival with crenellated battlements, gothic arches, trfoil decoration etc. To the top of the tower are four small towers the front of each decorated with a knight in armour. The dome to the top of the clock is surrounded by columns. The dial is like an elaborate window. It is a beautiful piece of gothic fantasy and in wonderful condition. The movement is of 8 day duration and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. The movement is regulated by a silk suspended pendulum. French circa 1830-40. 22.5 inches high by 10.5 inches wide by 5 inches deep ( 56.25 cm by 26.25 cm by 12.5 cm).
