Antique gold, silver gilt and painted ivory panelled box, with tortoiseshell lid, 18th century. A very pretty box and extremely unusual with the six delightfully hand painted scenes on enamel that surround the box. The scenes seem to follow a theme and are of a group of people in 18th century dress just outside a building which may be an ale house. Various scenes are played out including ballooning. Probably English circa 1760.
