Antique Carrera marble and bronze bust of young boy titled "Ismael" by Aug. Moreau. A quite exquisite combination of materials to create a quite beautiful sculpture by one of the really great Romantic French sculptors from the end of the 19th century. In really great condition, signed in the bronze to the back and titled to the front. Born in Dijon he studied under Mathurin Moreau and exhibited mainly statuettes in marble at the Salons from 1861 to 1910. French circa 1880. 15 inches high by 11.25 inches wide by 6 inches deep (37.5 cm by 28.5 cm by 15 cm).
